These two or three days, the share price was reaching US$250+ as the day’s highest value, so that I tried to sell a part of the shares and did set order. However, they were not successful because I got greedy and hoped a little bit more.
Last night I set order US$254 that was the highest value these days, but within 20 or 30 minutes or so, it was sold successfully. It was regretted that handling charge US$2.18 was deducted from the value I sold. As a result, the amount became very fractioned number. Very regrettable!! I should have sold at US$254.01.
I will transfer the funds as it is, meaning as US$, and exchange it to SG$ here. Then, I will add some cash and clear housing loan.
The reason is: Current interest rate of housing loan is more than 5% and it won’t be realistic to pay housing loan more than SG$3,300 every month after I retired even if the share price went up.
I checked SWIFT Code and tried to transfer the funds but couldn’t since it takes +2 business days to settle the value. I searched and searched the Charles Schwab’s site, and it took about two hours to find it out. The 23rd of November is Thanksgiving Day, and the NY market opens till 13:00 EST on 24th November, and as a result it will be settled on 27th November. Sigh. Anyway, it moved!!
